Emergency crews in The Woodlands, Texas, have recovered the body of a swimmer from Lake Woodlands on Saturday morning.
According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and The Woodlands Township Fire Department, authorities received a call around 6 a.m. reporting a missing swimmer. Rescue operations were launched immediately, and the individual was located and recovered at approximately 9 a.m.
Officials noted that low visibility in the water made search efforts challenging. However, specialized equipment, including radar technology, assisted crews in locating the swimmer.
The incident occurred near Northshore Park, where a portion of the Ironman Texas event was taking place at the time. It has not yet been confirmed whether the individual was participating in the race.
The identity of the victim has not been released, and authorities have not provided further details regarding the circumstances of the incident.
