A chaotic early morning incident unfolded in downtown Denver, Colorado, after an allegedly stolen vehicle crashed into a tree along the 16th Street pedestrian area.
According to police, the घटना began around 2:06 a.m. when officers responded to a report of a stolen car near the 2000 block of Lawrence Street. Investigators say the suspect had asked the vehicle’s owner for a vape, and when the owner briefly stepped away, the car was taken with the keys still in the ignition.
Less than 10 minutes later, at approximately 2:14 a.m., officers received reports of a crash on 16th Street near Stout Street. Responding officers found the vehicle had slammed into a tree within the pedestrian area.
Witnesses in the area reported hearing screeching tires followed by a loud crash. The driver and a passenger allegedly fled the scene but were quickly located and detained nearby by police.
Authorities say suspected narcotics, including cocaine and psilocybin mushrooms, were found in their possession. Investigators also believe the vehicle may have been speeding or racing at the time of the crash.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident. Both individuals were taken into custody, and the case remains under investigation.
