With heavy hearts and deep sorrow, we remember and honor the life of Jordan J. Duerler, a beloved 13-year-old from West Portsmouth who passed away on April 16, 2026. Though his time on earth was far too short, the love and light he brought into the lives of others will never be forgotten. Jordan was born on March 22, 2013, in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Amanda Collins and Brandon J. Duerler, and was lovingly supported by his stepmother, Shelly. From an early age, he showed a gentle spirit, curiosity, and kindness that drew people to him. As a student at Portsmouth West Middle School, he was known as thoughtful, respectful, and warm-hearted.
Jordan found comfort and purpose in his faith, taking joy in learning and sharing his beliefs. His compassion for others reflected a maturity beyond his years, and he was always willing to lend a helping hand. He also embraced life’s simple joys, especially his love for basketball, outdoor adventures, and riding four-wheelers. His curiosity made science his favorite subject, as he eagerly explored the world around him.
Above all, Jordan treasured his family. Time spent together, especially during game nights, brought him great happiness and created lasting memories filled with laughter and love. Even in passing, Jordan’s kindness continues through his decision to become an organ and tissue donor, offering hope and life to others. His legacy is one of generosity, love, and compassion. Though gone far too soon, Jordan J. Duerler will forever be remembered and deeply missed.
